Jim Lorriman is gaining recognition for his stick bowls made from staghorn sumac, lilac, red pine, juniper and other non-commercial woods. His technique permits recycling and docks, stairs, railings, window frames, boat parts and other sentimental woods have come his way to take on new life. He shows the wood with its beauty and its flaws.
He was a NICHE Award Finalist in Woodturning for 2009 and has had one of his pieces accepted into the “Unity and Diversity” Exhibition at the Canadian Pavilion of the Cheoungju International Biennale in South Korea, September, 2009.
